Discounts and promo codes
Set up sibling, multi-class and early bird discounts, and codes families enter at registration.
Billing and payments2 min read
FrontRow can take money off tuition for you. Discount rules apply automatically when a family qualifies, and promo codes apply when a family types a code at registration.
Add a discount rule#
- Open Billing in the menu, then choose Plans & pricing.
- Choose the Discounts tab and select New rule.
- Name it, for example "Sibling 10%".
- Pick the Kind:
- Sibling: starts at the second (or third, and so on) student in a family.
- Multi-class: starts at a student's second (or later) class.
- Early bird: for families who register by the date you choose.
- Multi-week: for a minimum number of weeks.
- Under Takes off, choose a percentage or a fixed amount, and enter it.
- Set the Priority. Lower numbers apply first.
- Tick Stacks with discounts applied before it if a family can get this on top of earlier discounts. Untick it if it shouldn't combine.
- Check the Preview with this rule panel, then select Create rule.
To change a rule, select Edit. To stop using it, select Archive. Charges already scheduled keep their amounts.
See how discounts stack#
The Price check card on the Discounts tab lets you build a pretend family, add students and classes, and see what they'd pay. You can also try a promo code and a date. It's a handy way to answer "what will my second child cost?" before a parent signs up.
Create a promo code#
- On Plans & pricing, choose the Promo codes tab.
- Select New code.
- Enter the Code families will type, like FALL10 (up to 40 characters, no spaces).
- Choose a percentage or fixed amount under Takes off.
- Optionally set when it Starts, when it Ends, and Max uses.
- Select Create code.
Families enter promo codes during online registration. To pause a code, select Turn off; select Turn on to bring it back. Tracked announcements create their own codes, so you may see some you didn't make here.
Who can do this#
Only owners and admins can create or change discounts and promo codes.
What about a one-off discount?#
For a single family, like a goodwill gesture or a missed class, issue a credit on their account instead. See Credits and write-offs.
