For dance studios

Recital season, without the binder.

FrontRow speaks dance from day one: seasons, styles, dancers and teachers. It also handles the two jobs other software leaves to a spreadsheet, costumes and recitals, from the first measurement to the fee on each family's account.

With FrontRow

  • Costumes sized for you
  • Recital fees on one bill
  • Seasons that roll over

Every dancer sized from the vendor's own chart

Import a vendor's size chart once. When a parent enters measurements in the portal, or a teacher takes them in class, FrontRow picks the size for every costume that dancer is assigned. Nobody squints at a chart at midnight.

  • Size charts for each vendor, imported from CSV or started from a template
  • Measurements entered by staff, or by parents in the portal
  • Dancers who still need measuring are flagged before you order
  • Assign a costume to a class once, and every dancer in it gets a line

Costume season, start to finish

The part of the year that eats a studio alive, in four steps you can see the end of.

  1. 1

    Assign

Pick the costume for each class. Every dancer enrolled gets a line with a size worked out for them.

  2. 2

    Measure

Parents enter measurements in the portal, or teachers take them in class. The size updates on its own.

  3. 3

    Confirm

Parents see the costume, the size and the fee, and confirm their own line before you spend anything.

  4. 4

    Order and hand out

Send each vendor a purchase order, export it as CSV, and tick off costumes as they go home.

Recital and costume fees on the same account as tuition

Costume and recital fees post to the family's ledger next to tuition, so they ride the same autopay. Parents confirm the costume line themselves, which ends the "I never agreed to that" conversation in May.

  • Recital, costume, registration and supply fees, per dancer or per family
  • Sibling, multi-class and early-bird discounts posted as visible credits
  • Warm-ups and dance bags sold in the portal, billed to the same account
  • An extra rehearsal fitted into an open room without bumping a class

Set up the way a dance studio already works

  • Your words

Studio, class, dancers, teachers, seasons and styles, out of the box. Rename anything your studio says differently.

  • Season roll-over

Copy this season's classes forward and hold a spot for every returning dancer until the date you choose.

  • Summer and camps

Summer intensives and camps run as their own programs, apart from the season and priced by the day or the week.

  • Trials and auditions

Book trial classes from your website and run ads for auditions, with every sign-up traced to where it came from.

Leaving Jackrabbit or The Studio Director?

Both have their own import, and so do DanceWorks, Dance Studio Manager and Studio Pro. Your classes, dancers and balances come across mapped and checked, and you see a dry run before anything counts.

How switching works
  • Cards back on file without the phone calls

Every family without a card gets a text and email with a link to add one in the portal, and reminders until they do.

  • Check it before it counts

A validation report and a dry run show the result first, and the whole import can be rolled back.

  • Nobody is charged until you say so

Your first billing run waits for your approval, after balances are reconciled and old autopay is off.

Common questions

Do parents see costume sizes before we order?

Yes. The costume, the size and the fee all appear in the portal, and the parent confirms their line before you place the vendor order.

Can teachers take measurements in class?

Yes. Staff can enter measurements on the dancer's record, and parents can enter them from the portal. Either way, the size updates on every costume that dancer is assigned.

Does it handle competition teams?

Partly. A competition team runs as its own class or program, with tuition in installments and fees for choreography, costumes and events. There's no module for entries, routines or scores yet.

What happens to classes on recital weekend?

Add a closure for the weekend. Sessions inside it are cancelled, and you decide whether families get a credit for them.

Do you say season or term?

Season. Dance studios get dance words out of the box, and you can rename any of them for your own studio.
