Take measurements

Enter students' costume measurements, set a deadline for parents to add their own, and find who still needs measuring.

FrontRow suggests costume sizes from each student's measurements. You can measure students at the studio and enter the numbers yourself, ask parents to add them in the portal, or both.

Open measurements#

  1. Open Costumes in the menu.
  2. Select the Measurements tab.

The list shows every active student, their measurements, and who entered them (Staff or a parent). Students without any are marked Missing. The counts at the top show how many are measured and missing.

To narrow the list, pick a class, or select Show missing only.

Enter measurements#

  1. Select Enter next to a student (or Edit to change existing ones).
  2. Choose the Unit: Inches or Centimetres.
  3. Fill in what you measured. Leave the rest blank.
    • Girth: from the shoulder, through the legs and back up.
    • Height: standing, without shoes.
    • Chest: around the fullest part.
    • Waist: at the natural waist.
    • Hips: around the fullest part.
    • Inseam: from the crotch to the ankle.
  4. Select Save measurements.

Owners, admins and front desk staff can enter measurements. Teachers can see the measurements for the classes they teach.

Ask parents to measure at home#

At the top of the tab, owners and admins can set:

  • Measure in: inches or centimetres, as the default.
  • Parents measure by: the deadline for parents.

Save your changes in the bar at the bottom.

While the form is open, parents see a reminder on their portal home page and can add or update each child's measurements in the Costumes card on their Family page. After the deadline, parents can no longer change them and are asked to message the studio instead. You can still edit them any time.

Tip: Measure at the studio for anyone still missing a week before your order is due. Use Show missing only to get your list.

What if a student grows?#

Just update their measurements, and their suggested size updates to match. If they're already on a draft purchase order, change their size on the order too. Once an order is submitted to the vendor, its sizes are locked.
